In La Mata, Torrevieja – just a 35-minute drive south of Alicante Airport – you'll find Casa Viva la Fleur. The apartment is also easily accessible via a direct bus from the airport.
With the beach and the charming village center just a five-minute walk (350 meters), you'll have everything within easy reach: a traditional bakery for fresh croissants in the morning, a supermarket for all your groceries, and charming terraces where the evenings are long and warm.

Laguna de la Mata Nature Park

Pink Salt lake in Torrevieja; Las Salinas
Laguna Rosa in Torrevieja is a bright pink salt lake in a protected natural park, a 10-minute drive from our apartment. You can see how salt is extracted at this salt lake. Note: swimming is prohibited; it's prohibited to protect the habitat!
A tourist train also runs daily from Torrevieja harbor to the pink salt lake.
Torrevieja
The lively Torrevieja is just 8.5 km away. There are enough parking places available at the harbor, and during peak season, a tourist train departs daily with two different routes. Stroll along the charming boulevard, explore the harbor, and soak up the Mediterranean atmosphere.
Playa de La Mata
Playa de La Mata is Torrevieja's longest and widest beach, with golden sand and a peaceful, natural setting. It is surrounded by dunes and the protected Molino del Agua nature reserve, ideal for walks. With its wide promenade, beach bars, sports areas, and excellent facilities, La Mata is perfect for both relaxing and active beach days.
Playa de los Locos
Playa de los Locos (6 km) is a beautiful city beach in Torrevieja, with characteristic rocks and fine sand. About 150 meters offshore, there's a pontoon, perfect for a refreshing dip. Along the beach, you'll find numerous cozy beach bars where you can enjoy a meal or a drink.
La Zenia Boulevard
Shopping at La Zenia Boulevard (14km), in Orihuela Costa. This open-air shopping center boasts over 150 stores, including large branches of well-known brands and many charming smaller shops. Children can also enjoy the trampolines and monkey town. Pleno Zenia, also on Zenia Boulevard, offers fun activities such as bowling and a games hall.
Zenia Beach
Playa Zenia (14km) is an ideal family beach with several eateries where you can enjoy a day at the beach.
Habaneras
Shopping in Habaneras (6.5 km); dozens of shops, such as Guess, Jack & Jones, Pull & Bear, but also H&M and Zara. Many restaurants, mostly fast food chains.
Island de Tabarca
Island de Tabarca is a unique island off the coast of Alicante, known for its crystal-clear waters and rich underwater world (so bring your swimming and snorkeling gear). The historic village with its whitewashed houses, ramparts, and charming seafood restaurants makes Tabarca an ideal destination for a day of nature, culture, and relaxation. It's a short boat ride from the ports of Santa Pola or Torrevieja.
Cave houses and shell house in Rojales
The cave houses of Rojales (15km), better known as Cuevas del Rodeo, are white caves where artists exhibit and sell their work. Every first Sunday of the month, they're open from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
If you walk a little further, you'll arrive at the remarkable Casa de las Conchas, or shell house. The walls and turrets of this unique house are completely covered with thousands of shells and mosaics. A colorful work of art in itself!
Guardamar Moncayo Beach
Guardamar Moncayo Beach (8km); no rocks or stones, and you can walk far into the sea. Facilities such as toilets, showers, and beach bars are plentiful.
Elche
Elche (35km) boasts the impressive Palmeral de Elche, a palm grove with over 200,000 palm trees. Besides this green oasis, you'll find historical sights like the Basilica of Santa María and charming squares full of Spanish charm. A perfect combination of nature, culture, and relaxation, just a short distance from the coast.
TIP: Elche is an excellent shopping destination, especially for shoe lovers. Elche is the center of the Spanish shoe industry, where approximately 50% of all Spanish shoes are manufactured.
Alicante
Alicante (35km) is the capital of the province of Alicante and an important port city on the Costa Blanca. It has a historic old town, Santa Bárbara Castle with a beautiful view over the city, and a vibrant nightlife. Alicante is also known for its annual Hogueras de San Juan festival in June.
Cartagena
Cartagena (66km) is a historic port city on Spain's southeast coast, known for its Roman amphitheater, ancient forts, and rich maritime history. Visitors can explore lively squares and museums, as well as the famous Licor 43 factory, where the world-famous liqueur is produced.
Cabo Roig Beach
Cabo Roig (15km), also known as the winter beach, offers a pleasant environment all year round. Thanks to the shelter provided by the surrounding rocks, it's a lovely place to spend time even in winter. With a pleasant promenade, beach bars, and excellent water sports, it's ideal for relaxing and active holidays by the sea.

About Us
We are Jos and Diana, and as of April 2026, the proud owners of a beautiful apartment on the sunny Spanish coast. The complex was built in 2024/25 and is located a 350-meter walk from the charming village center of Torre La Mata, Torrevieja. After years of enjoying travel, hospitality, and the Mediterranean lifestyle ourselves, we decided to embark on a new adventure: our own place in Spain, which we are now happy to open up to guests from all over the world.

Wij hebben genoten van het huisje. Het is er gezellig, liefdevol en met aandacht ingericht. Op de foto’s lijkt de keuken misschien klein, maar hij is van alle gemakken voorzien. De woonkamer is knus en biedt een mooie speelruimte voor de kinderen. Zou er zeker weer eens komen!
Helemaal bij gekomen van ons weekendje weg. Het nabijgelegen meer is fantastisch voor een wandeling. De open haard maakt het ook extra lekker om binnen te zitten. Ruime slaapkamers en verder helemaal in orde!
Modern, ruim en netjes. Slaapkamers en badkamer waren goed schoongemaakt. Werd ook goed ontvangen door de gastheer. Verblijf als zeer prettig ervaren.
Top huis! Goed geholpen door de gastheer bij aankomst. De ligging is werkelijk perfect. Met de auto ben je zo in de stad. Daarna kan je lekker bijkomen in de serre. Er wordt ook aan het milieu gedacht(afvalscheiding, energie- en waterverbruik). Een aanrader!
Mooi huis tussen de weilanden. Wij zijn wandelliefhebbers dus waren de hele dag op pad. Zelfs van het keukentje gebruik gemaakt voor het ontbijt en kwam eigenlijk niks te kort.
Wat een prachtig huis! Wij hebben ons enorm vermaakt in de grote tuin. De verhuurders hebben ons goed geholpen en waren altijd in de buurt als we ze nodig hadden. De ligging is super mooi. Overdag huppelen er konijnen en ’s nachts een egeltje gezien. Absolute aanrader!
Goed huis. Mooi afwisselend landschap en heel rustig gelegen. Vriendelijke mensen en heerlijk knusse ruimte, met zorg ingericht. Goede houtkachel, lekker bed.
Deze accommodatie is schoon en ruim opgezet. De kamers zijn gezellig en de bedden zijn heel goed. Fijne omgeving. Wandelen, fietsen, watersport etc, de mogelijkheden zijn enorm. Wat bijzonder opvalt is de buitenruimte met prachtige tuin, met BBQ en gezellige zithoekjes met vuurplaats.
Heerlijk rustig en landelijk. We moesten weer even wennen toen we weer thuis in de stad waren! Huisje is compleet, bedstee en tuinhuis zijn een leuke toevoeging. Genoten van de vogeltjes in de tuin.
In een woord geweldig!! De verhuurder is ontzettend behulpzaam en heeft ons goed ontvangen. Wij hebben nu al heimwee en willen weer lekker door het bos wandelen. Echt een goed onderhouden paradijsje!
